Matthew 13:58
And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
Just a simple thought going through my head this morning. We use this verse often when stuff doesn't happen. It is kinda of our go to verse. "Well stuff didn't happen, so people didn't believe. They don't realize my gift, or realize what God wants to do."
But do you notice what it says, it says that miracles still happened in that atmosphere. There was a lack of faith, but miralces still happened. We know that belief, faith, and atmosphere affect the outcome when God is moving. I also understand the whole context of this scripture.
But maybe we should focus that in the atmosphere of a lack of faith, God can still move.

Scriptures on my Heart
Hab 3:2

I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord.
Renew them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.

1 Cor 1:17
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel — not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
NIV
1 Cor 2:4-5
4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
NIV
1 Cor 4:20-21
20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
NIV
1 Thess 1:5-6
5 because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

Serperation of Church and State
We all know both sides to this great debate. I just have to add a short thought. I am passionate about the condition of our government. I stay up to date. I get involved. I also have my belief system of what government should be (the party I support). We must be careful from the pulpit. I have to say that we must be careful that we don't let who we want in the Whitehouse decide who we let go to heaven. I hope that this makes since. If we were to sit down for a cup of coffee I could passionatley defend my political views and also try to convert any who are on the other side of the ailse. But whatever my personal politcal view would not be worth it if from behind the pulpit expressed what I believe politcally and turned somebody off from church. To me, not worth it. To our surpise there will be Republicans, Demacrats, Independents, Greens, and many others in heaven. There are a lot of people turned off to the chuch right now because Evangelicals are see as more of a voting block than evangelists for Christ.
